SANTA CRUZ, Laguna (PIA) – The provincial government of Laguna has mobilized a quick response team to prepare and augment resources as it braces for the possible impact of Super Typhoon Nando on Monday, September 22.

In a live Facebook video, Governor Sol Aragones inspected the repacking of family food packs and other essential items at the Action Center in Laguna Sports Complex. These supplies will be distributed to families that may be affected by the typhoon.

The governor emphasized that even if Laguna is not directly in the typhoon’s path, preparedness is crucial, especially during calamities where people’s lives are at risk.

Marlon Vendivel, head of the Laguna Action Center, reported that his team has been working round-the-clock since Sunday night to repack relief goods and ensure readiness.

“As part of the quick response team, maaga po kaming nagsama-sama dito upang makita ninyo na maayos ang pagre-repack.

Governor Aragones also called on Lagunenses to immediately inform the provincial government of their situation should the typhoon cause flooding or other hazards in their area.

Aragones urged residents to take precautions and assured the public that Laguna is prepared to respond and conduct rescue operations if necessary.

According to the Heavy Rainfall Warning No. 6 issued by DOST-PAGASA on 11AM of Sept. 22, Laguna is under the yellow warning level, where light to moderate with occasional heavy rains are expected. (CH/PIA-Laguna)
