CALAMBA CITY, Laguna (PIA) — The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in Calabarzon has distributed a total of 76,158 family food packs to households affected by Super Typhoon Uwan across the CALABARZON region as of November 13, 2025.

The DSWD IV-A said the total value of assistance extended by the agency has reached ₱48.77 million, reflecting the government’s ongoing efforts to support affected residents during the early stages of recovery.

According to DSWD IV-A, these relief goods were sent to hardest-hit communities to help address the immediate food needs of displaced families.

Aside from the regular food packs, the DSWD has also delivered ready-to-eat food items, sleeping kits, and other essential relief supplies to several individuals and families who were severely impacted by the typhoon.

The department reported that it is continuously monitoring 963 evacuation centers in the region, which remain operational and currently house around 24,000 families who were forced to leave their homes due to flooding, landslides, and other typhoon-related hazards.

The agency added that DSWD field personnel and local social welfare offices are working closely to ensure that evacuees remain safe, that relief operations run smoothly, and that the immediate needs of displaced communities are identified and adequately addressed.

The DSWD assured the public that relief distribution will continue in the coming days as part of the government’s commitment to assist families affected by Typhoon Uwan. (PIA4A/DSWD 4A)
