With its commitment to provide accessible medical care to Mendezeños, the Provincial Government of Cavite, in coordination with the Solo Parents Association of Mendez (SPAM), carried out a medical mission program at Mendez Municipal Plaza on April 13, 2023.The event aimed to provide free medical services to the residents of Mendez who may not have access to basic healthcare facilities.
Dr. Idgee Gabriel B. Bondoc and Dr. Bryan Ross F. Villa led the Cavite Provincial Health Office team in attending to the basic medical needs of the patients through consultations, check-ups and health counseling. They ensured that each patient received the best possible care.
The team from the Office of the Provincial Governor–Extension, headed by Ms. Charlene Ann P. Samala, alongside BHWs and SPAM members greatly contributed to the activity by ensuring the smooth flow of the services. OPG–Extension staff also gave out free prescribed medicines and vitamin supplements to the locals.
Likewise, the Provincial Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit team rendered antigen swab testing, while the Provincial Government – Environment and Natural Resources Office staff ensured the sanitation of the venue.
As the program concluded, Ms. Charity A. Pereña. SPAM President, shared the humble beginning of their association and their initiative to facilitate a health outreach program in order to give the residents, especially the solo parents and their families, access to the healthcare services. She, then, expressed her appreciation to the PGC for graciously extending their services to the community, making the health outreach program possible.
Ms. Sonia Mendoza together with Mendez Chief of Staff, Mr. Ronald Perey, and Mendez Councilors, Hon. Ruby Lita Bay-Remigio and Hon. Alexander S. Ocampo, visited the venue and showed their support to the event.
Through the collaborative effort of everyone, the medical mission was a clear success serving a total of two hundred sixty (260) beneficiaries. (PICAD)
