On March 22, 2023, the Provincial Government of Cavite through Provincial Tourism & Cultural Affairs Office, together with the National Historical Commission of the Philippines and the Municipality of Kawit, spearheaded the celebration of 154th birth anniversary of General Emilio Aguinaldo, the first president of the Philippine Republic.

The program started with a memorial mass officiated by Rev. Fr. Efren Bugayong, Parish Prient of Parroquia de Santa Maria Magdalena. Subsequently, the Hukbong Dagat ng Pilipinas, PNP Kawit Police and Cavite Tourist Police Unit led the Philippine Flag Raising.

Mr. Emmanuel Franco Calairo, president of NHCP, delivered an opening message, followed by the speech of the guest of honor, Mr. Marcelino Libanan of 4PS Partylist and House of Representatives Minority Leader. In their message, they talked about the journey and bravery of General Emilio Aguinaldo, how he won the battles for the Filipinos and for the Philippines.

The highlights of the activity were the wreath laying ceremony and blessing of the tomb of the late president.

Also present during the course of activity were Kawit Municipal Mayor Angelo Emilio Aguinaldo, Kawit Municipal Vice Mayor Edward Samala, Cavite City Mayor Denver Chua, IPH Raymund Caballero, SGC/Ad Vitam Geronimo Esguerra, VM Christian Maristela, IPB Victor Raquipis, Master Councilor Carl Eric Cabading Jr., MW Apolonio Toledo, WM Rizaldy Geronda and the relatives of General Emilio Aguinaldo, joined by Ms. Rozelle Sangalang, head of PTCAO, PCOL Christopher Olazo, Provincial Director of Cavite PPO, and Hon. David Chua, 1st District Board Member. (PICAD)
